Weldest focus group meeting with Project Partners – in Bad Saarow

On Monday 06/16/2014, the project team of the University for Sustainable Development Eberswalde (HNEE) met the Tourism Association Lakeland Oderspree (TSOS) and the european institute of business and environment (eibe) in Bad Saarow. During the meeting Steffen Lange PhD and Robert Schmidt MA (both HNEE) presented the current WelDest project results. In this context, the latest version of WelDest self assessment tools was also presented. The following discussion had the goals to the improve the content, to increase value-added and to improve the user-friendliness of the self-assessment-tool.
During the meeting the self-assessment tool was run through completely! Above all, any questions regarding the terms used came on.

Especially with an international user groups the partners noted that there are varying degrees of sensitivity for their own environment. Furthermore, it was noted that there were subjectively widely differing understandings of some key terms. Depending on the professional and personal background of the self assessment tool users, there were different associations with multiple terms, such as "Outdoor activities" or "accessability to destination". In summary, the partners stated out that some minor changes must be made, generally the tool works fine in many ways for later use.
All emerging issues of the project partners were documented and will be discussed on the next WelDest Partner Meeting (06/25/14 to 06/27/14) in Bath in England.
